Hot air balloon fest!

Yesterday I went to the Football Hall of  Fame hot air balloon festival with the family! It was so much fun! I felt like a kid again, looking up at the balloons. There are dozens, and they even have a competition where the balloons have to see if they can grab this ribbon off a pole. Whoever can do it wins $3000. No one got it, but it's nice to see them try! They come so close to the ground, and we sat right in front of the area where they were set off. I loved it!

Finally! More outfits!

Well, I'm back in O-H-I-O! And that means my camera cord! So I finally have a few outfits up to show!
I started work today, and I must say, I love my job! I work for a Milliner, so I get some amazing hands on experiencing making a variety of hats. My hands were raw and black from blocking sinamay, but I love it :) It really is such a rewarding experience seeing a hat go from fabric to a finished creation.

A hat makes any outfit! I mean, who doesn't love the classic look of a beautiful straw hat in the summer!

She always wants to be in my pictures!

Mutlee baby :)

A little blurry, taken from my digital camera.
This is a dress I just purchased from Target!

I'm slowly catching up! Only 10 outfits to go!

Words of Wisdom #1

Today I have a quick tutorial that saved me money and my makeup! I always seem to drop my eyeshadow or blush, and end up having to buy a new one because it keeps breaking and goes everywhere. But I came across this super easy way to fix it! I tried it today on my broken blush, and it worked!

Find out how here

Here is a quick outfit taken from my not so nice camera. It's the only outfit I have to show, since the rest of mine are on my other camera which is still missing a cord!

Tomorrow I drive back to Ohio. I can't believe this month is almost over!

Simply Bloom

So I'm still waiting for my USB cord to come in the mail so I can post pictures! So many outfits, all waiting to be taken off my camera! So expect a huge update Wednesday or Thursday. I've been under the weather the past few days, so I pretty much just slept around all day. As much as I hate being lazy, it was relaxing to do nothing but sleep and eat crackers.

I also watched the show Sweet Home Alabama. It's like the bachelorette, but with southern men vs. city men. And I must say, I looove myself a southern boy! I love the traditions of yes mam, no mam, opening doors, and loving to play football and cook. So needless to say, it's my new guilty pleasure! I must say, I am a lucky girl because I found myself a southern gentleman in Ohio!

I came across this AMAZING photography duo, Vania and Christine, which make up Simply Bloom Photography. I love wedding photography so much, and their work is elegant and beautiful.

Here is a wedding from their blog that I am in love with. Everything about this wedding is perfect. From the hair and shoes, to the chocolate mustaches.

So amazing, right?

Kitty trouble

So the reason I have not been able to update is my lovely cat, Coco, decided to eat my USB cord that connects my SLR camera to my computer. For some reason she loves cords, the vet says she enjoys the shock from electricity. It definitely does not sound fun, or safe! So we have to hide cords. But of course, I left one out, and next thing I know it's eaten in half. So no pictures of the past few outfits until I get a new cord.

I went to Richmond Wednesday to see one of my best friends, Jennifer. It was such a blessing to be with my friend Kristen and Jennifer. They are such beautiful women who have hearts completely devoted to the Lord. It is amazing to hang out with them, and share our hearts with each other. Such a great time :)

Kristen.. as a horse hahahaha

Jennnnnny!

Kitty toys? I think yes!

My friend Jennifer is an amazing photographer. Amazing is really an understatement. She is so good at capturing special moments. I can't wait to get married and have her take the pictures :) You really need to check her out!
Here is her website

I also finished a custom order for bridesmaids pins. Ones like these are available in my etsy shop!

Feathery Flair

So Mutlee and my cat's still dont get along. It's a gotten a lot better though, and the cats now roam the house freely. But Peaches still hides in my room when Mutlee barks. So the past few days have been me and Peaches all day long! So for meow monday, I feature the always beautiful, Peaches!

Today I went out to lunch with the family, and got a picture with my beautiful Omi (grandma in German) and her twin Erika. My Grandmother and Great Aunt are such an inspiration. They are beautiful women who lived in Berlin, Germany during WWII and lost their home, school, everything to the war. But they remained strong, and came to America and prospered.

Here is this ahhmmaaziiinnng tutorial on how to make a feathered hair accessory from Promise Tangeman Blog. Feathers are so in right now, and a few of my friends have feather extensions in their hair and it looks so good! But this is a great option for someone who wants the look, without paying to get them in and taking care of them.

1. INGREDIENTS: old t-shirt, hair clips, scissors, super glue, twine, and feathers.
2.CUT/RIP T-SHIRT INTO STRIPS. I chose a black T-shirt because I wanted just a subtle look in my hair. I cut/ripped 3 different lengths of fabric. One really long one, one medium length and one shorter one. I even added some knots and tied ends together for a detailed look.
3. ATTACH T-SHIRT FABRIC TO CLIP. Using the twine I simply tied and tightly knotted the fabric onto the end of the clip.
4. WRAP TWINE AROUND T-SHIRT STRIPS.Wind the twine around all three fabric pieces separately. I wound certain parts tighter than others to add more interest.
5. GLUE THE FEATHER. Super glue the end of the feather.
6. ATTACH FEATHER. Slip the super glued feather through the wrapped twine.
7. SECURE FEATHER. Secure the feather again with a snippet of twine. Knot it good, just to be sure.
8. REPEAT THE PROCESS. Repeat steps 4-7 until you have the desired amount of feathers and twine on your hair piece. I used about 3-5 feathers on each t-shirt strip.

I can't wait to make this!
